Student safety and supervision is paramount to our functioning school. The duties below account for the supervision of students at times other than the classroom and that have been deemed appropriate. Assigning duties to administration and faculty is the only way to accomplish our goal of student safety and supervision. Furthermore, administration is poised to cover enough duties to meet NPA’s goal of only 1-duty per week for teaching faculty.

Lunch Duty Protocol

Updates from SY 2023-24

This school year NPA will be hosting two separate lunches, a middle school lunch and high school lunch. Because of this, the rotation plan implemented last school year can not continue. The duty schedule is therefore a single duty, once per week, for the length of the school year. Next school year, teachers with lot duty this year will absolutely take a lunch duty for parity purposes.

Updates:

• Teachers will have 1 duty per week for the entire school year that will remain the same.
• Administrators will have 5 - 10 duties per week for the entire school year that will not rotate to limit teacher impact
• Lot duty requires that both attendants stay in the lot until all traffic is complete
• If you are absent, you are responsible for finding duty coverage by way of swapping - it is suggested to pre-plan swapping with a team of colleagues
• SPED Department, Counseling, and Faculty Subs will be utilized as back up if needed
