Off Campus Field Trips
NPA supports and embraces field tripsto expand curriculum and have lasting impacts on both students and teachers. The default position is support! However, we must all balance the demands of the school year with all facets of NPA. This process aims to streamline the field trip planning process and allow for fairer trip distribution and support and lower negative student/teacher impact.
General Considerations:
- NPA will focus first on current semester field trips
- NPA will prioritize a balanced and lower-impact distribution of field trips (Fall and Spring trips rather than overbooking in the spring)
- NPA will prioritize equity in opportunity so more teachers and students have the opportunity for trips
- Turnaround time for approval will afford ample time to execute the approved trip
- The planning/approval rubric must serve as a planning guide
